Our Client is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to be a key member of the technology team, responsible for designing, building, and operating secure, reliable, and scalable cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure Pipelines, applying best practices in branching strategy, build/test/deploy stages, release management, and artifact management. Improve pipeline reliability and performance through techniques such as caching, parallelization, and reusable templates. Operate and optimize cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS (depending on project needs). Administer Kubernetes clusters (AKS, EKS, or equivalent): upgrades, node pools, networking, ingress, troubleshooting, and scaling. Package, version, and deploy services using Helm. Lead infrastructure creation and evolution using an IaC-first approach with Terraform. Build reusable Terraform modules and apply standards for naming, tagging, and environment segregation; manage state and environment separation. Develop Python-based tools/scripts to automate operations (e.g., pipeline automation, environment provisioning, compliance/security checks, reporting, maintenance jobs, cloud/API integrations) with production-grade practices (tests, logging, documentation, maintainable structure). Create and maintain small internal services/utilities that improve developer and operations efficiency. Implement security controls and best practices across cloud, Kubernetes, and CI/CD: IAM/RBAC, least privilege, network segmentation, secrets management, vulnerability management, and quality gates (tests, checks, approvals). Own/participate in monitoring, alerting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvements. Drive reliability improvements: capacity planning, performance tuning, cost optimization, and documentation.

Requirements

Must-have Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in a senior role, owning production systems and delivery pipelines. Strong hands-on experience with Azure Pipelines (design, implement, maintain pipelines). Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS or Azure. Kubernetes experience (AKS, EKS, or equivalent): operations, upgrades, troubleshooting. Helm experience for packaging, versioning, and deployment. Solid Terraform experience for Infrastructure as Code in real-world environments (modular design, state management, environment separation). Senior-level Python backend experience (not limited to scripting): build and maintain production-grade services/tools with clean structure, logging, error handling, and testing. Strong security mindset and experience applying security best practices in cloud/Kubernetes/CI/CD. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and effective communication across teams. Nice-to-have Relevant certifications in Azure, Kubernetes, or security are a plus. Experience building small internal tools/services to support DevOps workflows (e.g., automation utilities, webhook/event handlers, lightweight internal APIs). Experience with SQL high availability / clustering in production. Experience improving platform engineering practices (self-service environments, golden paths, internal developer platforms).
